About the photo clock
Pick any picture from your device and it becomes the background of a clock. Choose a digital readout, an analog face, or both, and go full screen to use an old phone or tablet as a bedside or desk clock. Your settings and photo are remembered the next time you open the page.
Your photo is not uploaded. It is resized in your browser and saved in the browser's own storage on this device. Nothing is sent to a server, and "Remove photo" deletes it. Clearing your browser's site data also removes it.
Tips for a nightstand or desk clock
- Use Full screen. On supported browsers the screen also stays awake while the clock is full screen.
- Raise Darken photo at night so the picture is not glaring.
- Choose a photo with a calm area in the middle, so the numbers stay easy to read.
- Keep the device plugged in, since an always-on screen uses battery.
- Switch Time zone to show the time somewhere else, for example where a family member lives.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my photo stored?
Only in your browser, in IndexedDB storage for this site, on this device. It is not on our servers, and it will not appear on your other devices.
The photo disappeared. Why?
Private or incognito windows, and clearing site data, remove stored photos. Choose the photo again to restore it.
What size can the photo be?
Any common image. It is scaled down to at most 2000 pixels on the long side before saving, which keeps it sharp on most screens and small in storage.
Does the screen stay on?
In full screen, the page asks the browser to keep the screen awake. Not every browser supports this, and some devices ignore it in battery-saving mode.
